Templating
Granite and quartz are not  materials that can be easily trimmed or altered on site –when the worktops are delivered they must be the right shape and size with cut-outs and holes in exactly the right place. All of our templating and installation is carried out by our own time served experts. On the day of your template, Al-Murad Granite will offer you either a morning or afternoon time slot. This is a guide for when you should expect to see a representative depending on travel time. It is advisable that you are there on the day of your template as there will be questions and answers that you will need to give.
The template ensures, the most important and critical aspect to having perfectly installed granite worktops. Also when our stone masons produce physical templates of your worktops this allows you to check overhangs and see where the joints will fall. When our stonemasons come to template your granite worktops they will normally spend two to three hours with you producing the plastic replicas. At this stage they will discuss your requirements in depth.
please do not be taken in by some companies that claim they do not need to template prior to installation. With all our years of experience we would not dream of trying to cut and polish worktops on site using hand held tools. It only leads to an inferior job and loads of mess for you to clean up!
Please be aware of prior to templating
•Area to be templated must be cleared and easy to access.
•Existing worktops must have been removed.
•Sinks and hobs must have been removed.
•All base units must be perfectly level
•All appliances must be available on site. (we provide sinks, taps, etc)
•Heavy range cookers should be on site, if not exactly measured
Once the templates have been made these are returned to our factory where, using the latest CNC technology and years of experience, we fabricate your worktops as an exact replica of the templates. This ensures a perfect fit each and every time.
