There are several things to consider when you are designing your perfect kitchen the first thing you should take into consideration is the overall shape and size of the room. If it is a bigger room you may benefit from a kitchen with an island counter in the centre which would make your kitchen a lot more practical. In this style of kitchen you can use a variety of different colours and styles of furniture, using contrasting light and darker colours will create a focal point helping to pull the overall design of the room together.

On the other hand if you have a much smaller room, a straight line design maybe more beneficial for you, in kitchens such as these it is best to use lighter colours and minimal furniture as well as good lighting. Combining all of these aspects will create the illusion of a much larger room.

Alternatively if your room is of medium size you may benefit more from a U-shaped kitchen, which works well if cooking is a passion of yours because unlike the straight kitchen pictured above, you literally have three times as much space meaning you can tackle numerous culinary jobs at once. A U-shaped kitchen can also (believe it or not) help your relationship, it means that two people can be in the kitchen at once, so you can both pitch in when cooking that romantic meal for two.

If you live in a fairly open plan house then an L-shaped kitchen could be just what you are looking for. It is not too big or to small so it can be arranged and installed in a way that suits your personal requirements. An L- shaped kitchen is also ideal if you are the type of person who cooks for dinner parties or family gathering because it means you have enough room to cook exactly what you want, but the open plan triangle this kitchen provides is ideal for keeping a close eye on the stove whilst entertaining your guests.
